"Addressing the most critical ethical dilemmas of our time."

Animal Rights & Environmental Ethics

Animal rights and Environmental ethics have been big issues in our world today. With issues like global warming and ruthless contaminated slaughter farms, a lot of spotlight has been put on animal rights and environmental ethics. Animal rights and environmental ethics are important because they affect us more then we may realize. Animals should be treated right whether they are being raised as pets, for food, or living in nature. Many slaughterhouses and industrial animal farms practice inhumane treatment and unethical procedures with animals. Some people may say, "well why should we care if they are going to die anyway?". How an animal is treated at the farm house could determine your health. When animals are raised in poor conditions, it can easily cause disease. When animals are raised in conditions where they stand in feces 24/7 and only have enough room to stand, diseases and illnesses spread quick. This is why we often hear of people getting sick and dying because their food was contaminated. The food doesn't just get contaminated during packaging. Sometimes the food is already contaminated by disease spread on the farm. We need to take a serious look at the food industry and pressure the FDA to enforce proper protocols on these giant food companies that we all buy from.

VIDEOS
The videos below are episodes of the movie/documentary Food Inc. This movie is included in this portion of the website because it covers issues not only on animal rights, but also environmental ethics with genetically modified foods, plants, and seeds which we are fed without even knowing. The fact that a company is being allow to patent seeds because they are genetically modified is part of environmental ethics. That also can spill over into the issue of morale, when it comes to cloning. In addition, it fits into the issue of animal rights and environmental ethics.
